Organized in 1981, the Precious Moments Collectors Club was created in response to the desire of collectors to share their common interest to learn more about Sam Butcher and the Precious Moments artwork, as well as to enhance the enjoyment and pleasure collectors derive from Precious Moments collectibles. When Enesco organized the club, the staff hoped to have 5,000 members in the first six months of 1981 and was stunned to reach that goal within the first six weeks! Today, there are tens of thousands of members in chapters across the United States and all over the world. One of the most important benefits of being a member is the right to acquire special Members-Only figurines. Club members also receive prior-to-the-public notice of figurine retirement and additions to the collection. A special bonus for members is the opportunity to meet with Sam Butcher at exclusive members only events. In the Philippines, the Precious Moments Collectors Club has its headquarters at Jojo’s Christmas Cottage inside the sprawling Sampaguita Gardens, an award-winning boutique resort in New Washington, Aklan.
